Jackie Chan’s latest movie, Shanghai Knight has not only hit a
cinema screen near you - it’s probably hit the table you’re having
lunch at today as well. That’s because Shanghai Knight’s promoters
have become the First Film Distributor to take advantage of a brand
new form of media - Table Advertising.
The brainchild of Angela C. Tan, of Alternate Ads, table advertising is probably one of the strongest forms of advertising available today. This is simply because the diner has no choice but to look at the advertising message from the moment they sit down to the moment they pay the bill and leave.
For the promoters of Shanghai Knights, according to Tan, it was important they got to be the first to spot the new advertising medium. “They believe that it was important they be the first to spot this new and innovative medium.”
The concept is simple, where else but at the cafe table can one find a captive audience that stays for a long period of time digesting not only the food in front of them, but also the message on the table?
